Welcome to Rivers & Roads
Rivers & Roads is a community-driven, youth based organization located in Fryeburg, Maine.
Our mission is to help emerging seventh grade students thru their senior year find their path to purpose while navigating the very rough waters of adolescence.
Rivers & Roads Maine aims to build a more substantial, brighter, and healthier tomorrow for young individuals raised in the surrounding area of MSAD 72 and Oxford County, Maine.
Our initiatives strive to teach our program participants the importance of empathy, kindness, responsibility and giving back.
Through collaboration with community members, farmers, gardeners, local business owners, and culinary experts, Rivers & Roads mentors and prepares young adults to become productive future citizens.
At Rivers & Roads, we feed our soul, we feed our neighbors. We strengthen our minds, our bodies and our skill-sets. Simultaneously igniting a sense of purpose, pride, responsibility and stewardship.
Our Intention
Rivers & Roads invests in the future well-being of a vital population with so much to offer and so much possibility, yet are often overlooked.
Young people today face many obstacles; food insecurity, job insecurity, mental health, and self-worth.
We set out to provide our participants a path to sustainable livelihoods and healthy financial being, transforming them into future-ready citizens.
What We Believe
When a young person has a PURPOSE they have a PATH to PURSUE.
Feelings of validation, Intention & Self-worth emerge. Pride, Confidence, Curiosity & Contribution grows.
With purpose there is now a MEANING for getting up in the morning. A REASON to show up. An inner DESIRE to live and to do good.
It is a strong sense of purpose that paves the path to a pursuit of happiness, generosity, personal wellbeing & loving kindness.
